USRetina is seeking an experienced integration specialist to join our growing team. The candidate will be responsible for integrating EMR and Practice Management data from Retina practices into USRetina’s data warehouse.  This includes ongoing management of integrations as well as maintaining and scaling the existing pipelines. The ideal candidate is a pipeline builder with experience extracting data from EMR and/or PM systems in the Retina space and enjoys building tools, automation, and optimizing for performance.  She or He must be self-directed, skilled in data techniques and tools, and comfortable supporting the data needs of clients, teams, systems and products. The right candidate will be excited by the prospect of optimizing or even re-designing our company’s data architecture to support our next generation of products and data initiatives.


  • Work with vendors and member-practices to extract data from EMR and PM systems
  • Ingest EMR and PM data into USRetina’s Data Warehouse via sFTP, Nifi, and Mirth Connect
  • Monitor and maintain existing integrations
  • Work with member-practices to diagnose and resolve data issues
  • Scale data pipelines for actual and projected growth in integrations
  • Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
  • Work with stakeholders including the Executive, Product, Data and Design teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.
  • Keep our data separated and secure across national boundaries through multiple data centers and AWS regions.


  • Experience with EMR and PM Systems, ideally in the Retina subspecialty
  • Experience with Mirth Connect, including writing java and / or JavaScript code within
  • Experience ingesting data from REST APIs is a plus
  • Experience building and optimizing data pipelines, architectures and data sets, including the necessary SQL skills
  • Ability to work in Linux and Windows environments
  • Familiarity with AWS
  • Experience with at least one of the following is a plus: Python, Java, GoLang
  • Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment

This full-time position is based in the Alpharetta, Georgia headquarters of USRetina and will report to the Provider Network Manager. Previous experience with retina/ophthalmology medical practices and/or specialty medical drug distribution or group purchasing will provide advantages for candidates.


  • Correspond with physicians and ophthalmology/retina practice administrators and staffers
  • Develop close relationships with medical practice administrators and staffers
  • Manage account knowledgebase by notation in the USRetina Customer Relationship Management Platform and other databases
    • Memorialize roles of staffers and physicians
    • Maintain full knowledgebase of practice sites of service, ship-to locations
    • Assist practices in maintaining knowledge of key data points regarding their own practices

    • Manage reselling/re-leasing of drug storage cabinet systems
      • Communicate effectively with medical practices
      • Coordinate onboarding of new lease agreements
      • Coordinate replacement of defective, replacement or upgrade units
      • Maintain knowledge of location and lease life of inventory
    • Train practice personnel on use of data input and payor contract input platforms
    • Assist Provider Network Manager
    • Infrequent Travel, as needed

The Retina Business Development Manager will foster business relationships within targeted community retina practices across a defined market segment and will follow a distinct, value-based selling process to develop new business.

Candidates with previous experience selling into the community retina space, experience selling Group Purchasing and/or distribution services in the specialty drug arena, and/or having experience working within a community retina practice will be advantaged.


  • Generate new, profitable revenue
  • Business Development and Sales of Group Purchasing Offerings (specialty drug, diagnostic equipment, services) and Business Services (Inventory Management, Revenue Cycle Improvement, Payor Contract Improvement, Credentialing Assistance and new services as they are developed) crafted for the community retina and subspecialized ophthalmology practices.
  • Develop Dossiers on Community Retina Practices across the Nation
  • In coordination with the VP of Provider Relations, develop and deploy Sales Targeting Methods
  • Generate and Qualify Leads
  • Conduct RFP response campaigns
  • Manage Sales Pipeline in assigned market segment
    • Actively manage sales engagements through close of business
    • Accurately and completely engage in data collection and secure complete Applications, GPO Agreements
    • Maintain CRM accordingly and accurately
  • Transition closed deals to Operations Team
  • Re-engage with practices after close for quality assurance, problem solving and upselling
